The paper investigates the role of arts-based pedagogies in promoting critical consciousness among students studying social sciences. Drawing on theories of critical pedagogy, it argues that creative practices enable learners to interrogate social inequalities and power structures. Through activities such as role-play, visual mapping, and storytelling, students engage in reflective and dialogic learning processes. The research includes case studies where learners explored issues like gender, class, and globalization through artistic mediums. Results indicate that arts-based approaches foster empathy, self-awareness, and a sense of social responsibility. Furthermore, these methods create safe spaces for dialogue and expression. The study also discusses the need for teacher training to effectively implement such strategies. It concludes that arts-based pedagogy can play a vital role in cultivating informed and active citizens.
