Visual Literacy and Its Role in Social Science Education

Abstract

The study explores the integration of performing arts in teaching political science concepts. Through role-play, simulations, and debates, students actively engage with political processes and ideologies. The research highlights how these methods make complex topics more accessible and relatable. Students demonstrated better understanding of governance, democracy, and power relations. Performing arts also foster communication and critical thinking skills. The study includes feedback from both students and educators, indicating positive outcomes. However, logistical challenges such as time and space were noted. The paper suggests incorporating performance-based modules into curricula. It concludes that performing arts can significantly enhance political science education.
