Abstract

This paper investigates the potential of arts-based learning to bridge the gap between theory and practice in social science education. Traditional teaching often isolates abstract concepts from real-world application. By incorporating artistic practices such as community murals and participatory theatre, students actively engage with societal issues. The study presents case examples where learners addressed local social problems through creative expression. Results indicate increased civic engagement and practical understanding. The approach also fosters teamwork and communication skills. Teachers observed higher levels of motivation and participation. Challenges include limited resources and time constraints. The paper suggests integrating community-based projects into curricula. It concludes that arts-based pedagogy strengthens experiential learning.
